'Ramadan Bulan Mulia'

Ramadan is a month in which fasting is obligatory for all Muslims. In addition, it is also the most awaited month by all believers, because of the various privileges offered by Allah SWT throughout this glorious and blessed month.

The word Ramadan comes from the root word 'ra-mim-dal', which means heat or stinging heat. This word developed so that it means to be hot or very hot, or it is also interpreted as almost burning. Therefore the meaning of Ramadan can be summarized as a time or condition where one feels hot, the mouth feels dry and thirsty. In Islam, the month of Ramadan is the 9th month of Hijrah.

One of the privileges of the month of Ramadan is a month full of blessings. The month of Ramadan is a month that is called 'the beginning is mercy, the middle is forgiveness and the end is kept away from the hell'. From Abu Hurairah r.a. that the Prophet SAW said when the month of Ramadan has come, the gates of heaven will be opened, the gates of hell will be closed and all the devils will be bound.

In addition, one of the majesty, privilege and glory of the holy month of Ramadan is Lailatul Qadr. Lailatul Qadr is a divine gift granted by Allah Ta'ala to the Prophet SAW and his people as a sign of His love. Therefore, the good deeds done by a servant of God on that night are better than the good deeds done for a thousand months. Moreover, when compared to the age of the prophet and also the previous people, it was found that the age of His Majesty SAW and also the age of the people of Prophet Muhammad SAW were very short. For example, Prophet Noah AS was blessed by God Almighty to live for 950 years. Therefore, Lailatul Qadr is a gift of great value to the people of Prophet Muhammad SAW. This is because the duration of a thousand months when counted in years is for more than 80 years. In addition, the number is much more compared to the age of the people of Prophet Muhammad SAW, which averaged around 60 years.

Therefore, it is very appropriate for every Muslim to reflect on all practices and also every moment of life that he goes through and then repent to Allah Ta'ala no matter how small the mistake. It should be realized that the practice of repentance cannot be postponed or postponed to another time because death will come to invite people at any time. The golden opportunity provided by Allah Ta’ala throughout Ramadan should be seized so as not to regret it later.
