The speciality of Ramadan

The word fasting in Arabic (صوم (means to leave. Linguistically, fasting is an act of refraining from doing something. While in terms of terms, it refers to the conduct of refraining from eating, drinking and things that can invalidate the fast starting from the dawn of the Sidik until the sunset (it should be started with an intention first). Not only that, Muslims who are fasting should also refrain from doing vile and useless things such as cheating, uttering abusive or useless words, arguing and often fighting. This is so because fasting is an exercise to cultivate the level of patience, honesty and tolerance in oneself. If these things can be achieved, the practice of fasting will help foster a pure attitude in Muslims. Based on the literal translation, the word Ramadan (رمضان (means scorching heat. While in Islam, Ramadan is referred to as the 9th month in the Islamic calendar and is considered holy for all Muslims. This is so because in the month of Ramadan, Muslims will have the opportunity to increase various acts of worship and increase practices to Allah S.W.T such as performing Taraweeh prayers and paying Zakat Fitrah. Like the months in the Islamic calendar, the month of Ramadan has a total of 29 or 30 days
