In May 2022, the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) ordered all public universities to review the security aspects of their respective facilities, especially buildings related to students. Every university management, especially the residential college, needs to ensure the safety of the premises and Kolej 10 UPM always looks comprehensively at that aspect to avoid unwanted incidents happening to students during their stay at the college. Every year, the management through the OSH committee looks at and evaluates the existing model, submits suggestions for improvement, including health and safety aspects for disabled people (OKU).
The University Safety Division (BKU) also strongly emphasizes the role of the students themselves who are responsible for maintaining discipline for their safety. Among the rules contained in the residential college rules include:-
In conclusion, the college management, students and fellows should take proactive measures to ensure personal safety. The safety and well-being of students while in the College 10 area is a priority and is always taken seriously. Accidents that occur must be avoided in order to maintain the well-being and welfare of the students. There is a Malay proverb that says 'Regret first income regret later it's useless'. Therefore, incidents that have happened either inside or at other universities need to be taken as guidelines to avoid casualties and unwanted things from happening.
