STRESS: WHAT IS STRESS, EFFECTS AND HOW TO OVERCOME IT?

Stress is an emotional, physical and mental response to changes in a situation that occurs in human life. Stress includes workload, pressure, anxiety, fatigue, conflict, panic, depression and lethargy.

We often take for granted about stress but did you know that stress can also lead to death? Failure to deal with stress can have a detrimental effect on society as well as individuals. Stress can weaken our body's immune system which in turn leads to dangerous diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Stress can kill, so do not let it kill you or your loved ones.

Therefore, the symptoms of stress need to be overcome immediately so that we do not become the next victim. So, what are the ways to overcome these symptoms? Here are some ways to deal with stress:

  1. Proper nutrition

Proper and timely nutrition helps in providing energy to cope with daily activities. In addition, taking a balanced diet is also important to ensure the body gets the nutrients it needs. Therefore, make sure you consume foods that contribute to the well-being of our body such as protein, vitamins, folic acid and minerals.

  1. Do not burden yourself

Ambition is a positive quality but can lead to the opposite effect if it exceeds one's ability. Therefore, we need to be careful in performing the task. For example, divide tasks that can be completed immediately and larger tasks. Therefore, our body and mind are lighter and easier.

  1. Relax

Adequate sleep and rest are very important for mental and physical health. After a long day of work, make sure your body gets proper rest. Listening to music, doing hobbies or taking time alone to relax the mind from tired work will help us in the long run.

  1. Interact with family and friends

As human beings, we need support from other human beings. Thus, spending time with family and friends can reduce mental turmoil. In fact, we can also share and express problems in order to rebuild a positive view of something.

Honestly, these methods may not be able to solve the problem of stress as a whole. However, it is important that we work to reduce the risk of these symptoms. One must have control over one's life to protect oneself and one's health. Remember to love yourself and instill a positive mind
