VISIT BY THE PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES WELFARE TASK FORCE TO DAPUR SISWA MADANI @ TENTH COLLEGE, UPM
Tenth College, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), received a visit from the Taskforce on Student Welfare in Public Universities, led by Encik Wan Zaharuddin Wan Abdullah @ Wan Abd Rahman, Head of the Student Affairs Division, and Cik Ummi Husna Abdullah, Head of the Student Well-being Section. The visit to the Dapur Siswa MADANI @ Tenth College was also attended by Puan Nurhaslinda Karim, Senior Assistant Registrar of Tenth College, together with the college’s management staff and College Student Representative Council (MPK), to assess the college’s preparedness and the implementation of student welfare initiatives.
This visit also involves an inspection of the kitchen facilities and operational needs, which include aspects of kitchen and cooking equipment, cleanliness, storage, inventory management, safety, and accessibility.
The MADANI Student Kitchen @ Tenth College has been operational and is in the process of preparing and improving facilities in anticipation of welcoming new students for the 2026/2027 academic session in September 2026.
The MADANI Student Kitchen initiative also emphasises efforts to strengthen the welfare and food security of students through the implementation of the Student Love Menu and Student Foodbank. The Student Care Menu provides a selection of cooked dishes, while the Student Foodbank offers food donations and basic necessities for students residing in dormitories.
The implementation of this initiative reflects UPM's commitment to strengthening the aspects of student welfare and well-being. The implementation of the MADANI Student Kitchen @ Tenth College provides a facility space that can be optimally utilised by students, and continues to support the efforts of the college and university in creating a campus environment that prioritises the welfare and well-being of students.
