Lead Camp 2021

YOUTUBE LIVE, CHANNEL K10 UPM, 5 JUNE 2021 - The Representative Council Tenth college (MPK) has been successfully organized the virtual program of LEAD CAMP 2021 . This program is an annual program that is usually implemented physically. However, due to pandemic constraints, the program had to be converted to online via the Zoom application. Even so, the objective is still the same, which is to hone the nature of leadership and produce backers for the MPK line in the next session. Not only that, the content of the program for this time is also more innovative which highlights communication skills, leadership, entrepreneurship and cooperation among groups.

A total of 55 students was participated in this program. They were split into six groups and each group consists of 8 or 9 members from various course, years of study and race. Meanwhile, the facilitators consisted of MPK and secretariat fellows. Apart from the participation from students, the program was also enhanced by the direct involvement of UPM Counseling Division (BK) officers during the Personality Test slot, administrative officers of tenth college during the College Doodle slot, and a line of fellows throughout the program especially during the Task Force slot.

The schedule on the first day (June 12, 2021) was quite packed with programs filling Briefing Sessions, Ice Breaking, Room Escape, Personality Test, Secretariat Introductory Session and Task Force. Each slot has different modules each participant can work on each soft skill they want to apply. The program began with a Briefing Session and Ice Breaking. This slot provides an opportunity for participants to get to know the MPK Kolej Sepuluh session 2020/2021. Apart from getting to know the MPK line -up, they were also exposed to the secretariat function at tenth college during the Secretariat Introduction slot. Both of these slots are important so that they can describe the role and as well as the terms of reference as an MPK roughly. Not only that, the program this time also invloved critical thinking of the participants through games in the Escape Room slot. The small group that was divided earlier had to complete the tasks in each breakout room which was handled by the facilitators in order to get the maximum clues and marks. They were given tasks in the form of organizing programs and secretariat problems that needed to be resolved prudently and thoroughly during the task force slot. This slot has been able to strengthen the relationship between participants and fellows due to the direct involvement of fellows in helping them solve a given problem.

Moving on to the second day (13 June 2021), participants were given the opportunity to express their problems with the facilities at the college and suggest solutions to the administrative officer of tenth college. There were many thoughtful thoughts that were suggested by the participants and were well received by Mrs. Rahiza. After that, participants were tested on the values of honesty, cooperation and enthusiasm among them. The tasks given are brief only but require strong justification in every choice they made. The last slot and highlight of the program is the Closing Ceremony of the LEAD Camp 2021 Program. This ceremony is their final assignment to explain the input they gain throughout the camp. This is because the ceremony was conducted entirely by the participants. The ceremony went smoothly with a presentation and closing speech from Mrs. Rahiza who represented Prof. Madya Ir. Dr. Nuraini Abdul Aziz, principal of Tenth colllege.

Overall, the program has been successfully organized with a different method than before. There are also shortcomings in this program but this is the beginning for all of us going through a life of new norms. Hopefully this program can be organized again in the next session so that the goals and traditions of tenth college continue to be preserved.
