Faculty of Food Science and Technology, UPM, 15 January 2025 – The Secretariat of Spirituality and Unity (SKP), Kolej Sepuluh of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in collaboration with the Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FOSTECH) Student Representative Council, successfully organized the K10 Taste Journey Program on 12 January 2025 at the Laman Mahasiswa, Food 1, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The program aimed to discover the culinary talents of students and promote healthy competition among talented participants.

A total of 29 participants from Kolej Sepuluh students showcased their cooking abilities in the cooking competition. The program began with the registration session and preparation for cooking. At 9:00 AM, each group received basic ingredients along with various traditional spices to create their creative dishes within one hour. After that, the next challenge, "Mystery Challenge," was announced. In this challenge, participants were required to prepare either an appetizer or dessert along with a traditional beverage within 45 minutes. This activity tested participant's creativity, agility, and cooking skills within the limited time.

The judging panel consisted of professionals, including YBhg. Professor Dr. Muhammad Shahrim bin Karim (Celebrity Chef UPM), YBrs. Dr. Muhammad Rezza bin Zainal Abidin (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, UPM), and Puan Nurhaslinda binti Karim (Senior Assistant Registrar, Manager of Kolej Sepuluh). After evaluating the participant's dishes, the "Triple Star" group was announced as the overall champion, followed by "Mechaeros" in second place and "Flat Ikan" in third place. Meanwhile, the "Misoyanawa" group was crowned the winner of the "Mystery Challenge."

The event concluded with a speech of appreciation from the program director and the presentation of prizes to the winners. In addition to providing valuable experience in the culinary arts, this program also succeeded in fostering a spirit of unity through collaboration between students and the local community. This initiative is hoped to strengthen the relationship between educational institutions and society, as well as preserve the rich cultural heritage of local food, which is imbued with historical values and national identity.
