Blood Donation Campaign

SERI BUDIMAN HALL, TENTH COLLEGE, UPM, 27 Nov 2021 – On 24 and 25 November 2021,  UPM’s University Health Centre had organized a Blood Donation Campaign with the cooperation of National Blood Centre and Voluntary Secretary of Tenth College, UPM. The objective of this campaign was to help the National Blood Centre to get sufficient blood supply for patients' use. The target participants of this program were 100 people only which consisted of UPM students. However, the program received an active response by having a total of 190 participants to come and join this program. On 22 November 2021, the notice and poster were shared at 1:00 p.m. via WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram and Facebook. The physical posters of the campaign were put up in Tenth College as well. On 24 November 2021, the program started at 9:00 a.m. and the hall was being filled by the participants under strict SOP which was controlled by the committee members who were on duty. As the number of participants exceeded the capacity, the program was forced to end earlier at 12 p.m. due to insufficient blood bags being used. The number of blood donors on the first day was 69 people. On 25 November 2021, the program started at 9:00 a.m. and the target participants were increased to 100 people. However, the number of blood donors on the second day was 87 people only and the program ended at 2:00 p.m. .The total number of blood donors throughout the campaign was 156. The hall was cleaned after the program and all the committee members were required to do Covid-19 self-test as precautions. The program was run smoothly and received positive feedback from various parties.
