SERDANG – COLLEGE TEN, 28 DECEMBER - On December 28, 2021, a group of volunteers from the K10 ResQ Team set up by the Volunteer Secretariat, College Ten,  Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) have followed an aid mission for flood victims located at Taman Seri Changgang 2 and Kampung Bukit Changgang. 

The program was made possible with the cooperation of 49 volunteers consisting of 46 students and 3 UPM staff. According to reports from flood victims, the natural disaster that hit Kampung Bukit Changgang has left a huge impact on the locals, especially the destruction of property. In fact, the muddy and slow-receding water made it difficult for locals to clean their homes. Thus, some of the K10 ResQ Team volunteers have helped and extended assistance in terms of volunteer energy to help flood victims especially among the elderly and those severely affected. 

Meanwhile, some more K10 ResQ Team volunteers also offered cleaning services to the affected houses in the Taman Seri Changgang 2 area. Upon arrival at the two locations, the volunteers were briefed in advance on the type of assistance needed. The mission of this program is to clean the house, furniture and dispose of damaged items. Apart from that, this program can also bring the volunteers closer to the community as well as foster the spirit of helping each other in the context of volunteering. 

After the program ended, the K10 ResQ Team went back to College Ten, UPM, and all-volunteer members were asked to report the health status after the flood disaster relief mission as a precaution. The health status of the students was monitored from time to time until the fifth day after the aid mission. 

The program on the day went very smoothly and received positive feedback from representatives of the flood victims.
