Islamic Arts Festival (IFEST 2019)

SARAWAK September 23 - Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak organized the Islamic Art Festival (IFest) 2019 on September 23, 2019 until September 28, 2019 at UPMKB Campus. A total of 6 contests were held during the 6 days of the festival.

The 6 competitions include the Writings Competition (Primary and Secondary School catergory, Men's Category / IPT, Open Category), Archery Competition (L / P) - (Primary and Secondary School Catergory, IPT, Open Category). Tilawah Qur'an Competition (L/P) - (Primary and Secondary School Catergory, IPT), Religious Lecture Contest - (Primary and Secondary School Category), Storytelling Competition - (Primary School Category) and Contemporary Nasyid - (Primary and Secondary School Catergory, IPT, Open Category).


In addition, the competitions were held to highlight the talents of the students as well as to increase their interest in the Islamic arts themselves. As a result, the Tenth College also did not miss sending a representative to participate in the Institution of Higher Learning (IPT) category. Representative from the Tenth College is the Sister of Sofea Binti Salim who is also the college delegation of Acedemic Secretariat (ACAEX) 2019/2020 Session.

A total of 13 participants from various universities around Malaysia participated in the competition. Sister Sofea was crowned first place in the Qariah (Women) category Tournament, defeating all the contestants. This victory indirectly proves that IPT student can stand the same level in this Islamic Arts Level. She has coveted the Tenth College and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) names in general.

The first place winner is a RM 300.00 mock cheque, a trophy and a certificate of participation. A big congratulations to Husna Sofea on her achievement of winning the IPT Women's Category Undergraduate Competition in conjunction with the 2019 Islamic Arts Festival at UPM Bintulu Campus, Sarawak.
