SERDANG, 8 Sept- About 3800 freshmen in Universiti Putra Malaysia participated in the program of Planting Mega Plants at 5 separate locations which are Zone A (Expo Hill), Zone B (Farm 5), Zone C (TNC Research and Innovation Building), Zone D (UPM mosque area) and Zone E (UPM Cemetery Entrance). Among the participants in the program included 460 first-year students from Tenth College.

The ceremony began with a light exercise at 7.40am and continued with the arrival of the invited guest; Prof. Datin Paduka Dato 'Dr Aini Ideris, UPM Vice-Chancellor and Tan Sri Dr Ghauth Jasmon, Chair of the University Board of Directors. Next is a prayer reading session followed by welcoming speech by Prof Datin Paduka Dato 'Aini Ideris and opening speech by Tan Sri Dr Ghauth Jasmon.

The next event was the symbolic of the tree planting followed by a visit to the tree planting zone. The event ended with a banquet for the guests. This program is the sequel to the series 1 mega crop program on June 23, 2019.
