Public Volunteer

Tenth College, UPM, 26 Jan 2021 – On January 23, 2021, the Volunteer Secretariat has organized a program called Public Volunteering (PubV). This Public Volunteer advocate gotong-royong activities independently at home with their family to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This “New Norma Gotong-Royong” activity is one of the enrolment activities that the secretariat plans throughout this semester. The main purpose of this program is to create a society that sensitive about the environmental of the place in together to maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and security at their own residence.

A total of 117 students have registered to participate in this program. Participants has started this gotong-royong activity starting at 9.00 am by cleaning their house such as the yard, bedroom, living room and so on. Next, the participants were asked to upload pictures of their gotong-royong activities at their own Instagram account as proof of participation along with the hashtag #PubVK10Care #WeLoveWeServeWeCare. The organizers ended the program on 23 January 2021 at 6.00 pm.

This program has been successfully implemented and also received great feedback from the participants. The success of this program can also be seen through the pictures that have been uploaded by participants which clearly shows their joy of being able to fill their free time by cooperating with their family members in this gotong-royong. In conclusion, the objectives of this program have been successfully presented to the participants and hopefully the efforts to cultivate the spirit of volunteerism among students through this gotong-royong activity will continue in the future.
